As state government works to complement PHCN efforts

Sahabi Gada, the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government (SSG), on Friday disclosed that the Governor Aliyu Wamakko administration had spent N3.8 billion on the procurement of essential facilities for the state’s Independent Power Project.
Gada made the statement in Sokoto while conducting the governor round some of the facilities at the project site.
He said when completed, the project would boost power supply in the state for socio-economic and political growth of the people.
The SSG said that the project would also complement the efforts of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in energy supply to the state.
Earlier, Governor Wamakko disclosed that the state government embarked on the project because of its significance to the socio-economic and political development of the state.
He added that the government would continue to initiate people-oriented programmes that would be of benefit to majority of the people.
The governor called on the people to imbibe the culture of protecting government property against vandals
