Stephen Appiah Hails Legendary Jones Attuquafio

Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has extolled the achievements of legendary Jones Attuquafio ahead of his Charity Match on June 29.

A number of high-profile players of the Black Stars will be on parade at the Accra Sports stadium in a game which is expected to attract huge numbers.

The charity match is intended to acknowledge the contributions made by the former Hearts of Oak trainer who is now battling throat cancer.

The 31-year-old who will captain the Friends of Attuquafio is full of praise for the celebrated ex-Ghana international.

?He is a legend and the only Sir in Ghana Football. He has done tremendously well and we?ll be there in our numbers to support him,? Appiah said

?Nobody can question his commitment and loyalty to both club and country. We have to celebrate people like this.

?We have to congratulate the organizers for coming out with such a wonderful initiate. I will entreat everybody to be there in their numbers,?

The Friends of Attuquafio will feature both former and current players in the likes of Togolese star Emmanuel Adebayor, Sammy Adjei,Emmanuel Osei Kuffuor,Jacob Nettey, Godwin Osei Bonsu, CK Akunnor, Nii Odartey Lamptey,Joe Ansah, Asamoah Gyan, John Pantsil,Ishmael Addo amongst others.

Part of the proceeds will also be donated to the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
