Students of the Christian Institute of Professional Studies (CIPS) in Kukurantumi have fled from their school, following threats issued by some bandits to rob and rape them in retaliation for the death of the murdered student, Samuel Asimeng Frimpong, of Christian Heritage Senior High Technical School (ChrisTech).
The threat had attracted police to the school premises as the few students on campus are living in fear.
Some students who spoke with DAILY GUIDE on anonymity said, ?Before the murder, our school was poorly-secured and had become a favourite zone of robbers?, a situation which heightened their fear after the threat.
?Robbers used to attack our school. Now, they are threatening us with rape. Last Sunday when we were at church, we spotted some strange people around but the presence of the police scared them away,? they said in unison.
The Tafo District Police Commander, ASP John Yeboah, who confirmed the threat, explained that he got wind of the threat through intelligence after which he met with both teachers and students.
A House mistress of the Christian IPS confirmed the story and appealed to all students to return to school or face punitive measures, adding, ?The presence of the police school should be enough for students to return to learn.?
?We are not on vacation, neither are we on a mid-term break. I want them to come back to school.?
The school?s bursar who claimed he knew nothing about the murdered student added that ?parents of the deceased should have accompanied you (the reporter) to the school.?
It would be recalled that one Joseph Cudjoe, a 22- year-old second year student of the Christian IPS allegedly killed a final year student from the Christian Heritage Senior High Technical School on Saturday.
