The 48-year chief, known in private life as Mr. Kwame Appiah, replaced Nana Gyamfi Kumanin, who abdicated in 2015 following a misunderstanding between him and Obrempong Antwi Tabiri II, the chief of the town.

The six-hour ceremony was witnessed by hundreds of people including Mr. Kwasi Oppong Ababio, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sunyani.

It was climaxed with the swearing of the oath of allegiance by Nana Appiah-Kubi to Obirempong Tabiri.

Covered in powder, Nana Appiah-Kubi was carried shoulder high to and fro the main street of Susuanso town, amid drumming and dancing, signifying his acceptance by the chiefs, elders and the people of Susuanso.

Earlier in a brief address, Obrempong Tabiri commended Nana Appiah-Kubi for his nomination, selection and confirmation by Nana Gyamera, the Krontihemaa of Susuanso.

He advised him to be guided in his administration by humility and respect for all to maintain the confidence reposed in him by the community.

In his response, Nana Appiah-Kubi promised to offer transparent leadership and appealed for unity among the people to enhance the socio-economic development of the town.
