Togbuiga Amenyafiti,”Take It Cool Buddy”

Travel and see our elders said, is not an insult, rather a good advice for one to learn new things in different destinations to incorporate into his life for the better.?

???????So I have been trying to at least visit four different destinations every year and in fact this year alone I visited four different states in?America?and the benefit is enormous.
???????On one of the journey?s , something happened which I will like to share with you as an introduction to my article today for you to know that really travel and see is not an insult.
???????Pennsylvania State in America is about four hours drive from Toronto in Canada so I decided to visit that state in last August after having visited New York in April and Ohio State in May all in this year.
??????On the Coach Bus, there was a urinal booth for passengers who in the cause of the journey may like to use the washroom facility to empty their belly or their bladder whiles the bus keeps moving on the road.
??????But because of the heat generated from the engines opposite the urinal booth at the rear that may cause unbearable odour on the bus, passengers decided to use the washrooms at various cafeterias instead and that was good.
??????In the cubicle far right at the corner in the washroom at Tim Horton?s, Buffalo, one could hear screaming?s from the user as he tried to squeeze the stuff out of his belly and you could hear the cursing and swearing calling some names as if they were the ones preventing him from having a free bowls.
??????So unbearable of the situation, another guy in the next cubicle was heard shouting down at the noise maker saying ?cool it man, cool it man, Yo buddy take it easy buddy you are disturbing others? which made others laugh big time.
??????That is beside the point, Tgbuiga Amenyafiti IV, the paramount chief of Aflao has promised to deliver 100,000 votes for the NDC in 2016 general elections right?
???????According to Multi T.V?s reporter Gifty Andoh Appiah, the chief made the comment??at a Durbar in honour of President John Dramani Mahamah who went on thanks giving tour and a working visit to the Volta Region.
??????Anyway, expressions are free and anyone can express his mind once it does not incite violence or abuse the right of another person so Togbuiga Amenyafiti was entitled to his comments.
?????But one thing I will like to tell Togbuiga Amenyafiti is, please take it cool, cool it buddy?. Ghanaians won?t care if you even harvest one million votes for the NDC in Aflao come 2016 general election.
?????But again I would like to remind the chief that 2016 general elections would be a fierce election where the electorates will demand for probity and accountability from the government before retaining it in power or otherwise.
??????In other words, Ghanaians would be asking for proof of capabilities to deliver on campaign promises before giving their mandate to one they prefer to manage the state purse.
???????Therefore the chief of Aflao, should bear in his mind that winning in that election will not depend on who gets one the majority votes, harvesting over hundred thousand votes by an individual alone or a chief like him but who brings better policies to the table that will make the election a successful one.
???????However, the capability of the elected to deliver on campaign promises to bring comfort to the electorates makes it successful.
??????If we should go by that ideology now does the Aflao chief thinks all is well and Ghanaians are enjoying the comfort under President John Mahamah whom he has promised to harvest 100,000 votes for come 2016?
???????Togbuiga, politicians someone said are from the same mother and that when they need power will spread the money. When they get to power, they create a barricade around to separate themselves from the people eh?
????????That is why our chiefs, opinion leaders and ordinary citizens have to demand for policy analysis on development projects which when given the power will institute to better the lot of the people and bring about national development.
????????Yes, the chief hinted that he was able to deliver 80,000 votes for the president and the NDC as the party?s World Bank and hope to add another 20,000 votes.
????????That sounds good, but was he able to tell us out of the total population in his traditional area the number of persons who are able to pay for their children?s school fees, afford utilities, pay quality health care and enjoy good roads?
?????????When it is for the NDC oh, ha,ha,ha, and the Mahamah will smile in appreciation of the fact that the chief has promised to bag 100,000 votes for him come 2016 elections.
?????????Suppose it was the same chief or a different chief from another traditional area who spoke against the NDC and the president, oh, bla, bla, bla the NDC hawks would have by now told whoever chief to shut his beak and not do politics.
?????????All said and done, Ghanaians are now demanding for probity and accountability from the government and not who can harvest 100,000 votes for who and I think that is a plus for democracy and good governance which is setting a stage for aspiring presidential candidates.
?????????Togbuiga Amenyafiti was entitled to his comment but outside the 100,000 votes promised Mahamah, Ghanaians will demand for policies and programmes before voting in the next election which may affect his vote bag.
