The Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co. will recall 127 vehicles from the Chinese market to prevent possible fires due to electrical short circuits, according to the country’s top quality watchdog.
The recall, set to begin on July 24, will involve Crown models manufactured between Dec. 4, 2009, and Dec. 20, 2010, said a statement on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation.
There is a possibility of a short circuit in the wiring for audio amplifiers of the affected vehicles, leading to fires in extreme cases.
The car company promised to install fused wires and metal shells for audio amplifiers free of charge to eliminate safety hazards, according to the statement. Enditem
