Management of Akatakyiman Rural Bank Limited has handed over 18 stuffed benches to the Kissi and Komenda Health Centres in the

Komenda-Eguafo-Edina-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality to ease congestion at their Out Patient Departments (OPDs).
Patients and family members who accompanied them to the centres had to stand and wait for their turn at the OPDs due to insufficient and rickety furniture.
The Komenda Health Center received six stuffed chairs and the Kissi Health Post had 12.
According to Mr. David Asamoah, Bank Manager, more would be added as and when needed.
At a brief ceremony at Komenda, Mr. Asamoah said the donation was part of the Bank?s efforts to ensure that all institutions in Komenda benefited from the Bank through its corporate social responsibility programmes.
He said the decision to donate the benches was based upon a request made by the centres when a team from the Bank went there to find out about their immediate needs.
Mr. Asamoah said the Bank had, for the past seven years, given back to the town by sponsoring some aspects of the Komenda Nyeyi Festival, funded the construction of a foot bridge linking two communities, graded the road leading to the Kissi Health Centre and donated bags of cement and musical instrument to some schools.
Ms. Anthonia Dogbatse, Midwife-in- Charge of the Komenda Health Centre, expressed gratitude to the Bank and appealed for more assistance.
Mr. Ebenezer Omane Adjekum, Physician Assistant of the Komenda Health Centre told the GNA that he also appealed for support in purchasing a medical refrigerator to preserve their drugs.
