Civil society sources who spoke to Xinhua on phone said the rebels managed to occupy sections of Eringeti locality after fighting for over an hour.
“The fighting caused massive movement of people who were fleeing the fighting zone heading to Luna in neighbouring Ituri province,” a civil society member who did not wish to be named said.
There has been no official information on the death toll but fighting between the two sides went on until late on Sunday, sources in the region said. Enditem
