uniBank (Ghana) Limited won five awards at the just-ended 11th edition of the Ghana Banking Awards ceremony organized by the Corporate Initiative Ghana (CIG) in Accra.
The awards category were Best Bank – Corporate Banking; Customer Care; Trade Finance and retained the Best Bank in Advisory Services, a category it won last year and second runners-up in the Short Term Loan Financing category.
This year’s award aimed at improving the quality of service delivery in the banking sector through healthy competition was under the theme: “Leveraging ICT to Transform the Financial Services Sector.”
Mr. Felix Nyarko-pong, Chief Executive Officer, uniBank, disclosed to B&FT that the award underscored the importance the company places on customers’ needs and sees the honour as a duty to continuously assist customers to enhance their profitability as players in their respective industries.
The bank Boss explained that the banking industry is assessed based on several factors including proactiveness of bank staff in identifying and proposing alternative solutions to clients’ needs; and ease of accessing advice by customers when required.
Mr. Nyarko-pong said last year was the third year of the Bank’s five year corporate strategy which has the intent of positioning the financial powerhouse as a dominant and preferred player in the SME and Retail Banking Sector.
“Through aggressive sales drive supported by appropriate structures and superior quality service, uniBank has achieved remarkable growth in deposits and profitability,” he explained.
“We are indeed honoured, and we dedicate all these awards to our highly-esteemed and loyal customers – and also to our board of directors and hardworking staff. Indeed, these awards showcase the quality products and services that we have been providing to our customers and stakeholders for the past years.”
In all, uniBank Ghana won five out of a total of eighteen categories. However, there were no winners in four categories.
These are Best Bank – Product Innovation; Best Bank – Export Finance; Best Bank – Agriculture Financing and Special Award – Best Bank, Mobile Banking.
uniBank Ghana Limited established eleven years ago, has made consistent progress in the banking sector.
