The Union of Industry, Commerce and Finance Workers has apologised to the board and management of Agriculture Development Bank for the personal attack it launched on them over the sale of shares of the bank.
In April this year, workers of the bank joined by UNICOF came up against the board and management over what it claimed was mismanagement of the bank as well as the sale of some of the bank?s assets.
They also kicked against the reorganisation of the bank and the planned sale of shares of the bank through an Initial Public Offer and vowed to employ all necessary processes to halt the IPO.
But following the settlement of the impasse that paved the way for the IPO, the UNICOF has written a letter to the Managing Director of the bank, apologising for their ?unsavoury language and personal attacks? on the board and management.
The letter dated September 28 and signed by the General Secretary John Esiape, said the relationship between leadership of UNICOF and the Board and Management of the Bank has been strained due to some disagreement over the processes leading to the IPO and reorganisation of the of the Bank.
The letter, a copy of which has been sited by tv3network.com, said the Board Chairman Nana AlorSoglo IV, the MD, Stephen Kpordzih, and the Executive Head of Human Resource, Ms. Akwelley Bulley as well as other members of the board and management became subjects of unsavoury language and personal attacks.
?We regret the personal attacks and the harm they have caused,? the letter read in part.
?On my own behalf and on behalf of the leadership and members of UNICOF, I would first like to apologise to the board and management of ADB. I would like to render a sincere apology to the Chairman of the Board, MD and Executive Head for the personal attacks they have suffered,? it added
?We trust that our apology will be accepted so that we can rebuild the trust between the Board and the management on one hand and the Union on the other,? it ended.
