Dr. Godwin Attoh, a medical administrator at the Alpha Hospital who confirmed this tragic incident, said Jennifer and another young man believed to be a taxi driver were brought to the hospital early Thursday morning with stab wounds.
Despite efforts by doctors, the Level 300 Banking and Finance student, Jennifer Attieku, passed on. The young man has been resuscitated and is responding to treatment, the doctor said.
The two have been reportedly been dating for the past five years. The young man was reported to have visited the lady in her hostel as explained by the medical Doctor, and there was a misunderstanding between the two resulting into stabbing.
A brother of the deceased told journalists he got a call from the hospital, but by the time he got there, she had died. He said the gentleman had threatened his sister two days ago.
A complaint was lodged with the police. According to the District Police Commander, DSP Adae, the deceased’s boyfriend was arrested and granted bail yesterday.
After this, the young man went to the hostel of Jennifer – whom he accused of cheating on him – where a scuffle ensued.
He transfixed the lady and stabbed himself in an apparent attempt to commit suicide. Doctors however, managed to revive him but Jennifer was not so lucky to survive.
