As this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards train is about to make a stop in Tamale for a nominees’ jam, music lovers who live in and around that part of the country have threatened to boycott the event.??
Reports reaching hypegh.com from Tamale indicate that fans of DEENSI and some media persons have expressed displeasure that DEENSI, the only Tamale-based artiste who got a nomination slot in the “TRADITIONAL SONG OF THE YEAR” category is not billed to perform.
Abdul Waris C K, a fan of DEENSI who spoke to hypegh.com warned that Charter House must look for ways to include DEENSI on the bill as one of the headline artistes of the nominees’ jam because, they are the only Tamale-based artiste who got nominated. “We have been side-lined for so long”, he added.
Sarkodie, Samini, last year’s Artiste of the Year ? R2Bees are among the acts set to perform at the 15th annual Vodafone Ghana Music Award?s Nominees Jam, at Tamale Sports Stadium.
The show will also feature ‘crowd pleasers’ such as Castro, Bisa Kdei, Stonebwoy, Joyce Blessing and more surprise acts.
More than 40, 000 music fans are expected to be at this free concert.
