Vodafone Ghana has once again demonstrated its commitment to its brand promise of empowerment and making a difference in the lives of Ghanaians with a new campaign called ?1 like 1 cedi?. Driven on the Vodafone facebook page, the ?1 like, 1 cedi? campaign raises funds to support the Autism Centre in Kokomlemle by liking the Vodafone Facebook page ? www.facebook.com/vodafoneghana. Individuals will be making a significant difference in the lives of the children at the centre as for every ?like? Vodafone Ghana gets on their page, they will donate GHC 1 to the Autism centre.

This campaign, according to the Head of Corporate Communications of Vodafone Ghana, Carmen Bruce-Annan Ghana, is ?to first create awareness about the centre and raise funds for the completion of some projects being undertaken by the centre. We are asking everyone to get involved in this campaign by just ?liking? our facebook page. The ?like? on the page is a pledge a person gives to the cause whenever he clicks on it. At Vodafone Ghana, we have made a commitment to empowering individuals to live their life fully and we do this through partnerships?.

Autism is a neurological disorder which affects some children and leaves them unable to form normal social relationships and develop communication skills; they are absorbed in a world of repetitive activities and interests

Carmen Bruce-Annan added that ?the behaviour of people with Autism represents their attempt to deal with an often confusing and difficult world and they need help and support to develop more effective ways of managing their environment. These children need care, love and support, and that is why we are asking everyone to join us to support them?.

Globally, it is believed that one out of every 500 children is on the autistic spectrum, making it more common than diabetes.? Vodafone Ghana will use the money raised to buy much needed equipment for the Autism Centre.
