“Volta Women Arise”, a pro-NPP women`s group is organizing a Health Walk, Health Screening and Rally on 23rd July 2016 in Krachi Nchumuru. The march which has been endorsed by over 25 Organized Groups in the Volta Region (V16), will start at 6am through the principal streets of Chinderi to Kaliakor and will be followed by a Mini Rally and Free Medical Screening.
The event is organized to educate all women and youths on health issues, create political activism, sensitize and convince undecided women to support the Flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo to win power in the 2016 Election and change the fortunes of Ghanaian Women in the region.
The group whose core members are health professionals will use this time to voice out their frustrations against the way the NDC government is collapsing the NHIS, high unemployment level of women, abject poverty and dire hardship that President Mahama has plungged the whole country in.
We have come to believe that the “Better Ghana Agenda” promised by Mahama and the NDC government is a “mirage” as it is clear that life is worst-off today than it was 8years ago. The rocketing electricity tariffs, high cost of food staffs, and in fact a situation where women will have to walk for several hours to get untreated water from a dam for use due to lack of portable water in Krachi Uchumuru. The manner pregnant women are dying in the area with many others ending up with miscarriages as they will have to be carried to the hospitals on motor bikes on bad roads due to the collapse of the Ambulance service.
As proud Voltarians and Ghanaian Women, it is our duty to rise up and challenge the bad state of affairs in our region . To turn a blind eye will amount to dereliction of our civic duty.
We call on all Volta Women and Ghanaians who love their region, to join “Volta Women Arise” on the Health walk and Screening on Saturday July 23, 2016.
Volta needs change. Volta Women and youths will change. God bless and prosper the Volta Region and Ghana.
Signed
