Hate your job? Just wait a couple of decades, and maybe you?ll feel better. A biannual survey by Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that nine in 10 workers who are 50 or older are ?very? or ?somewhat? satisfied with their job.
And it?s not a fluke. This has been consistent over 40 years of these surveys, which show that satisfaction rises from about 80 percent in workers younger than 30 to 92 percent for works 65 and older.
It?s hard to imagine getting LESS sick of a job over time, so this probably implies that as you get older you gravitate, excel and find your ideal career. Certainly older workers have more expertise, and that must lead to greater respect from colleagues and more job stability.
