Former President? Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday repeated why he had to resign as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustee Chairman, saying that he did it so as to concentrate on international issues and to attract investors to Africa.

Obasanjo said his resignation would afford him the opportunity to attract ?business opportunities to Africa in general and Nigeria in particular in view of the happenings in Europe and America.?

Also reacting to the crisis? bedeviling PDP in Ogun State,Obasanjo declared that he had no grudge against ex-governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the party?s financier, Buruji Kashamu and other aggrieved members of the party.

The former president, who spoke during a stakeholders? meeting held in his residence in Abeokuta, urged party executives to open its doors to everybody ?regardless of their antecedents?.

It would be recalled that the party has been enmeshed in leadership crisis which had polarised the party into four? factions with Obasanjo, Daniel, Kashamu and Jubril Martins-Kuye leading the factions.

Describing the PDP as a great party,Obasanjo urged members of the party to brace up ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

Obasanjo who charged the party?s executive to make transparency and accountability their watchwords said? I have no grudge against anybody provided they adhere strictly to the constitution of the party?

Also speaking at the stakeholders meeting, the Chairman of the party, Senator Oladipo Odujinrin disclosed that the party?s structures have been set up from ward to state levels.
