Albert Adomah
Wigan Athletic are set to swoop for Bristol City?s Ghanaian winger Albert Adomah to boost their chances of returning to the English Premier League.
According to SportsNews Direct the Latics are closing in on a ?1 million deal for the midfielder.
Latics are set to agree a price package with the League One club and hope to speak to the transfer-seeking Ghanaian as soon as possible.
Adomah wants to move to the DW Stadium and it appears his wish is to be granted.
The Ghanaian is hoping to play FA Cup winners in the Europa League next year and also help them to quickly return to the top-flight.
Wigan were relegated from the Premier League despite winning the FA Cup last season.
Bristol City paid a six-figure sum for Adomah in 2010 and he has played 136 games, scoring 17 goals.
Despite their relegation to League One last season, City head coach Sean O?Driscoll told BBC Radio Bristol he is not under financial pressure to sell players.
?This is the first time at a club, apart from my brief time at Forest, where I?ve had the facility to wait for the right bid to come along,? he said.
?We have to manage the player and that?s the conundrum in this. A player wants to go and feels his career would be best suited somewhere else, so we?re trying to manage his situation.?
