Pre-school children of the Dwomo Roman Catholic (R/C)?and Methodist Primary Schools in the?Tano South District?in the Brong Ahafo Region heaved a sigh of relief when?the Assembly-member for Nkwantakwanano Electoral Area at Dwomo Mr. Collins Offinam Takyi? donated 40 dual desks worth GH?1,600?to?the two?schools.

Before the donation of the dual desks?the children were writing from the bear floor of their classrooms. This has been the situation with most basic schools across the country.

Mr. Takyi at the presentation ceremony said, during his visit to the schools he saw that the children do not have chairs and a writing desk and they were writing on the bear floor in the classrooms.

He said this state of affairs made him to mobilise funds to use some logs that has been seized by the Unit Committee of Dwomo?to make the dual desks for the children.

He said?the desk was made by carpenters from the area as part of their contributions towards the welfare of the community.

Mr. Takyi urged the teachers to ensure that the children take good care of the desks to extend its life span.

Mr. Samuel Donkor, Head teacher of the R/C Primary who received the desks on behalf of?the two school pledged that they would ensure that the desk are protected and used very?well for the benefit of the people.

He said enrollment has increase in both schools and therefore appealed to the Tano South District Assembly and other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to?come to their aid to?enhance teaching and learning in both?school.
