 Kwame Dorleagbenu in trouble.

THE DORYUMU police in the Dangme West District of the Greater Accra Region have arrested a 35-year-old Rastaman for allegedly raping a 17-year-old junior high school leaver.

The culprit, Kwame Dorleagbenu, is a farmer who resides at Shai Hills.

Superintendent Kwesi Ofori, Dodowa District Police Commander, who briefed DAILY GUIDE on the incident explained that on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at about 7:30pm, Kwame and two other accomplices now at large, accosted the victim on her way to her house at James Kope near Asutuare Junction in the Eastern Region.

According to him, the suspect forced the victim into a vehicle, blindfolded her with a rag and drove her away into a bush around Shai Hills.

The Dodowa Police Commander said the other accomplices blindfolded the victim?s face, while Kwame suddenly pushed the victim unto the ground, undressed himself and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

The victim out of pain kept screaming for help but Kwame covered her mouth with his hand to prevent attracting onlookers, while he continued with his reprehensible act.

Superintendent Ofori mentioned that having satisfied himself, the other accomplice also took his turn to have sex with the victim.

After the ungodly act, the suspect again put the victim into the vehicle and drove her to a spot on the Doryumu Junction where they abandoned to her fate in pain.

He said a military man who was jogging early in the morning saw the victim and brought her to the police as members of her relation followed up to the police station.

A police medical report form was issued for the victim to seek for medical examination and the report clearly confirmed the act.

The Dodowa police boss noted that the victim was able to identify Kwame as one of the culprits during an identification parade conducted at the Dodowa Police Station.

Kwame admitted the offence in his caution statement after interrogations from the police.

He would be arraigned before court when investigations are completed
