Fuseini Donkor cutting tape to commission the project
A six-unit classroom block has been constructed at Hamidu, a village at the Sekyere Afram Plains District of the Ashanti region.
The project, executed by the Sekyere Afram Plains District Assembly, is to help address accommodation challenges of teachers in the area.
The district assembly has also constructed a two-unit classroom block at Issah Akura, also in the district.
Speaking at the inauguration of the two projects, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Fuseini Donkor, said they are geared towards improving education.
He observed that teachers refuse postings to Hamidu because of the non-availability of accommodation.
The assembly, the DCE said, decided to build the teachers? bungalow to help address the problems.
Mr Donkor announced that plans were underway to build more classroom blocks in the district, this year.
The DCE said education was his top priority and promised to help boost education in the district.
Hon. Donkor entreated parents and guardians in the district to use their funds to educate their children.
In this computer era, proper education is the best legacy that parents and guardians could bequeath to their children, he indicated.
