Heavy rainfall have caused severe flooding at various parts of Ghana?s capital, Accra on Thursday.
The flood which have caused heavy vehicular traffic in some major parts of the capital city including Teshie- Nungua road have rendered many people homeless.
Spy News Agency?s newshounds gathered that in parts of the Kwame Nkrumah circle, Kaneshie First Light and the Central Business District, valuable property including buildings, and vehicles were virtually been submerged in the floods.
It is believed that the situation was aggravated by the choked drains in the city as well as the buildings on waterways.
Despite the heavy downpour however, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) was able to sustain light in most part of the city to the surprise of many residents in view of the recent dumsor dumsor.
In a related development, the torrential rain that hit Accra and lasted throughout Thursday has displaced some residents of Ablekuman, a suburb of Accra. The rain which started on early Thursday morning show no sign of stopping as at the time of going to bed with this story at about 18:30.
Most residents remained helpless as they struggled to make their way to their homes due to the intense flooding. Commuters too could not walk across Ablekuman ?Abease through to Ablekuman-Block factory as the main drainage system near the Abease bus terminal had overflown its banks.

Motorbikes and saloon cars had to endure immense struggling through the floods in order to cross to the other link of the road.
Some residents of the area who spoke with Spy News Agency admitted that the flooding was mainly caused by human activity including building on water ways and throwing rubbish into the gutter among others.
?It is the activities of some unscrupulous people that has caused us this, they put up structures on the ways at both sides of the main drainage system
near the bus terminal,? one resident bitterly complained.
They have therefore appealed to appropriate authorities to demolish unauthorized structures in the water ways to pave way for running water through the drains. They also urged the construction of roads and drainage systems in some areas in Ablekuman such as Newtown, Abease, Blockfactory, Borkorborkor, among others so as to ameliorate the frequency of flooding situations.
