She said they needed to act together to shed the bad image Akwatia had earned as a major “flash point of election violence”.

She said the election campaign should be on message but not aggressive rhetoric and trash-talk political opponents.

Madam Adu-Gyemfi, popularly known as “Amma Sey” was speaking during the formal launch of the party’s campaign in the area in Akwatia.

She said she was asking the people to trust her and the NPP with their votes with the best of intentions – to lead the country back to economic growth, create wealth and jobs.

They were fighting for political power with the noble goal of building a nation that worked for everybody and not a privileged few.

Mr. Yaw Osafo-Marfo, a leading member of the party, asked the party’s supporters to overcome complacency and work with unity of purpose to assure the NPP of resounding victory.

They should remain vigilant to ensure that the election was transparent, free, fair and credible.

Mr. Samuel Atta-Kyea, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa-South, asked the people to vote down the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to end the graft and poor management of the economy.
