It would provide the platform to openly discuss and help everybody not only to refuse to be corrupted but to have the courage to report corrupt practices.
The Reverend Dr. Kojo Osei-Wusu, President of the Forum, said it would mobilize, educate and motivate the people to act together to purge the nation of anything dishonest and unethical.
He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the church could not sit on the sidelines to watch corruption take firm foothold in the society and stall its progress.
He indicated that as Christians, they were eager to contribute to the building of a nation based on strong values of integrity, trust, transparency and accountability.
The Rev Dr. Osei-Wusu, who is a former President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, said “we are determined by God’s grace, starting with our personal life experiences, to use this forum to discuss, expose and confront head-on this evil of corruption”.
He said they had already invited other churches across the metropolis join the anti-corruption campaign.
He also spoke of plans to organize public sensitization programmes and deepen the conversation with the political parties, education authorities and civil society to deal problems of vote-buying during elections, cheating in examinations, bribery and other unwholesome practices.
