The deployment of observers follows a three-day training on the AU observation methodology and briefing, which took place from Feb.13-15, said the statement.

(Xinhua/Pan Siwei)The AU Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to Uganda comprises 41 short-term observers (STOs), drawn from 28 African countries, noted the statement.
The AUEOM will assess Thursday’s Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council Elections in Uganda in conformity with the AU charters on democracy, elections and governance as well as the legal framework governing the conduct of elections in Uganda.
On Election Day, the AU observers’team will observe the opening of the polling stations, the voting process, and the closing and counting, said the statement. Enditem
