As another multiple crash leads to gridlock

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has advised motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to use alternative routes to and from Lagos.
The advice came after another multiple crash involving 24 vehicles occurred near Sagamu on the route, causing traffic disorder on Saturday.
FRSC Deputy Corps, Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, said that the accident occurred on Friday night when a trailer loaded with petrol fell and caught fire near the Sagamu interchange.
He said although no lives were lost, two persons sustained injuries, while 176 people travelling in the affected vehicles were evacuated.
The accident involved motor cars, mini and luxury buses, tankers and trailers.
Kazeem said fire-fighters, police and FRSC officers were working to ease the traffic.
It will be recalled that on Thursday, there was traffic jam between Sagamu and Redeemed Christian Church on the expressway after a tipper, three fuel tankers and three articulated vehicles exploded on impact.
