Extends product warranty period to 24 months | By Eki Toju

Customers of Samsung Electronics West Africa will enjoy 24-month warranty on all products purchased from the company.
Nicholas Shin, the Managing Director of the company, made this known at a press briefing held on Friday in Lagos.
Shin said that the company had extended its product warranty period to two years, adding that the 24-month warranty was for West Africa only.
“Customers will now enjoy a 24-month warranty on all Samsung products purchased from May 1, 2012 at no extra charge,” he said.
“In the past, the standard factory warranty on Samsung product range was valid for 12 months; however, now customers can experience more peace of mind with an additional 12-month extension.”
The director said that the standard factory warranty covered all appliances and digital air solutions product lines.
Raymond Olatokun, the Head of Service Unit of the company, said that the products were produced under the “Built for Africa Initiative”.
He stressed that the company considered the weather and electricity situation of the African continent before the products were produced.
“We are aware of the need for consumers to have access to the very best service level agreements,” Olatokun said.
“The extended factory warranty ensures that comprehensive service assistance, in case of incidental product failure, is given to consumers.
“I want to equally advise our customers to register any Samsung product they buy on www.samsung.com, to ensure that warranty claims are easy to manage.”
