Angelina Jolie kept her double mastectomy under wraps for three months until she publicly announced the preventative surgery in May ? but the revelation was no surprise to her onetime husband Billy Bob Thornton.
?I knew about it before the public knew,? Billy Bob says in the new issue of?Life & Style, on stands now, about the 38-year-old?s surgery. ?She wanted me to know so I wouldn?t freak out. When you?re great friends with somebody like that?you don?t want to hear it on the news.?
Though he and Angelina split more than 10 years ago, Billy Bob tells?Life & Style?that they still talk regularly. ?She makes you a better person,? he gushes, explaining that Angie was a great wife to him ? and will be the same to fianc? Brad Pitt, 49. ?She?s an amazing person and makes you the best you that you can be.?
