Ghanaian gospel musician Kwadwo Sarfo, a full-time chemist with the Ghana Standards Authority, has released a new single, “This Is Zion,” featuring Dorcas Adu-Asamoah.

Sarfo says the song came out of a prayer meeting led by Rev. Benhardt Ofosuapea, who instructed him to write a song about Zion after noticing the word displayed at the church entrance. Within minutes of entering prayer, Sarfo says, the lyrics and melody came together.

Born in Goaso in the late 1990s and hailing from Ghana’s Central Region, Sarfo already has one original song and several gospel medleys to his name, despite being a relatively new voice in the country’s gospel scene. He also hosts two annual events, Glory in His Presence in Accra and the Give Us You Conference in Kumasi.

Through the new single, Sarfo wants listeners to encounter Zion as a place of divine presence, worship, identity and communion with God, rather than treat the release as a standalone song detached from that meaning.

“This Is Zion” is available on major streaming platforms via DistroKid, with an accompanying music video on YouTube.

Sarfo continues to combine laboratory work with his music ministry, and can be followed on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram under the handle kwadwosarfomusic.
