The Reverend Father Patrick Owusu-Ansah, Parish Priest of Saint Francis Catholic Parish in Adanwomase in the Kwabre East Municipality, has called for Christians to stand up for what is right and what is just.

He said an effective and powerful tool they “have, is the example they set, as this would always be there for everybody to see”.

“Our example is a book that is always open, a lesson that is always being taught”, he added.

He said this at a Christmas mass held at the St Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Asonomaso.

He asked that the faithful used the celebration of Christ’s birth to renew their faith and resolve not to be part of anything immoral, toxic and indecent.

They were enjoined by the faith to mirror the life of Christ – just, truthful, honest, modest and incorruptible.

The Rev. Fr. Owusu-Ansah expressed worry about the growing craze for material wealth and said that was fueling greed and corruption.

The unbridled lust for wealth, power and influence, would need to change to make the world a better place for everybody, he added.

The Rev Fr. Owusu-Ansah reminded Christians to use Christmas celebration to share with the poor and the needy in society.
