The police helicopter crashed in Jos last month, killing four people

The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), in Lagos on Friday, said that although its investigators are still working on the preliminary report submitted to it, the components of the police helicopter which crashed in Jos recently would be taken abroad for laboratory tests.
AIB spokesman, Tunji Oketunbi, explained that the bureau had concluded plans to fly the recovered components, including the flight data recorder, abroad for laboratory tests which will ascertain the cause of the crash.
Although he did not disclose the country where the tests would be carried out, he assured Nigerians that the actual cause of the crash would be known through the tests.
The crash, which occurred at about 11.30am on March 14 in Jos, claimed the lives of four officers of the Nigeria Police Force, including the DIG of Operations, John Haruna.
Others who were killed were Haruna’s orderly, the helicopter pilot and the co-pilot.
