By Patrick Akoto
Chelsea’s opponents in the final qualifying round of the Caf Champions League are expected to arrive in Accra on Thursday for the first leg of the match.
Cameroonian side CotonSport Garoua will then make their way to Berekum for the fixture on Sunday April 29.
The Blues qualified to this stage after recording a 5-3 aggregate victory over Raja Casablanca in the penultimate qualifying round.
The Ghanaian champions must bag in the goals at the Golden City Park to ensure the return leg becomes a mere formality.
CotonSport was founded in 1986 and in that time they have won the Cameroonian league 11 times.
However, they have not been so lucky in the CAF Champions League
In 1998 they were knocked out in the first round while in 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2006 they failed to make it past the second round.
However, in 2008, they got to the final, losing to TP Mazembe of Congo.
They have not fared better in the CAF Confederation Cup only able to make it to the group stage once in 2004.
In 2007 and 2009 they only got to the second round while in 2010 they were knocked out in the first round.
Mauritanian referee Ali Lemghaifry will be in the thick of affairs with compatriots Dia El Hassne and Pene Cheickh Mamadou as his assistants.
