December Polls: Customs Staff Asked Stay Neutral

Mr George Vincent Blankson, Commissioner General, Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has charged personnel of the Authority to be diligent and neutral in their duties during the December 7 polls.


He said the Authority is noted for its professionalism when working alongside other security agencies during elections and asked the staff, especially graduands at the Kpetoe GRA Academy to maintain that standard and promote peace at the polls.

GRAMr Blankson was speaking at the graduation parade for Basic Customs/ Paramilitary Course at the Kpetoe Academy.

The 103 graduands went through 11 months training in escort and guard duties, handling of occurrence book, customs offences, baggage examination and field craft among others.

Mr Blankson asked them to display higher level of discipline and comportment in compliance with the Authority’s code of conduct even when off duty.

He implored them to carry out their responsibilities with diligence and ensure higher mobilisation of revenue for the country.

The Commissioner General reiterated the commitment of the Authority’s Management to building capacities of staff and said all training facilities of the Authority are being upgraded.
