The agreement was signed by Djibouti’s Transport Minister Moussa Ahmed Hassan and China’s ambassador to Djibouti Fu Huaqiang.

“This agreement expands our already close ties with Beijing to a new sector, that of air transport. But it also opens a new era for Djibouti’s transport and other sectors,” the transport minister said.

He said increased exchanges between Africa and China, the direct flights between Chinese cities and African cities have multiplied, and air transport has improved year after year to the benefit of both African and Chinese transporters.

“Through the agreement, Djibouti will benefit from Chinese expertise not only in the air transport, but also in the entire civil aviation sector,” Hassan said.

The Chinese ambassador recalled that China and Djibouti had signed numerous partnership agreements in the past and the current agreement will greatly contribute to the development of Djibouti’s air transport.

He noted that aerial exchanges between the two countries had multiplied in recent years. Enditem
