“The assailants injured ten people using machetes and stole property,” Daniel Erabo, the civil society leader in the area told Xinhua.
The people who resisted the looting of their goods were seriously injured by machetes.
Erabo said the attackers took advantage of the recent redeployment of DR Congo Armed Forces from the area to North Kivu province to carry out the attack.
He urged the Congolese military authorities as well as the UN Mission for Stabilization of Congo to redeploy troops to the area to protect the civilian population. Enditem
