History was made last weekend at the ancient town of Nsu in Ehime Mbano local government area of the state, when the town overwhelmingly drummed support for the ambitions of the Speaker, Imo state House of Assembly and the Okigwe zone senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Rt. Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu, as well as other APC candidates in the area.
Declaring their support for the APC candidates during the Speaker?s visit to the area, the President General of the town, Chief Zik-Martins Nnadozie, who led the community delegation, disclosed that the town adopted the Speaker, as well as other candidates of the party against their opponents after careful assessment of their popularity, pedigree, competence and cognate experience.
He added that the Speaker?s unbeaten records in Okigwe zone have continued to attract numerous admirers into identifying with his aspiration, as according to him, the reward for good job is more work.
The P.G also assured that the community would continue to support the realization of the senatorial ambition of the Imo Speaker, having benefited immensely from the ongoing Rescue Mission administration in the state, noting that the Speaker?s elevation to the upper chambers of the National Assembly would be an added advantage to the Nsu clan, as the town has been strategically positioned to reap from the abundance of Ben Uwajumogu?s good leadership qualities.
Chief Nnadozie, while commending the Speaker for facilitating the attraction several projects to the town within the shortest time he has been in government, also described him as a goal-getter whose main interest was basically rooted in the total turn-around of Okigwe zone to guarantee its citizenry the needed sense of belonging.
He assured that the ancient town would vote candidates vying for different elective positions in the area on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to enable it continue in benefiting from the numerous policies and programs of the present administration, which he said were abound in different sectors such as; road construction, free education, human capital development, agriculture, as well as other reforms which would have direct impact in the daily lives of its people.
Responding on behalf of the candidates, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, assured the Nsu community of continued government presence, owing to its strategic importance to the state?s economy.
He promised that the next phase of work immediately after next month?s elections would be to lobby for complete revitalization of the Nsu Tiles, which according to him, such gesture would ensure the creation of jobs for the people of the area, in accordance with the present administration?s policy of providing gainful employment opportunities to our teeming youths, adding that such measures would also add to the growth and development of state?s economy.
The Speaker, further expressed his profound appreciation to the community for their continued support and solidarity to the present administration in the state, within the last three and half years, adding that it was time for the people of the zone to come together and ensure the institutionalization of the government they can call their own, with an assurance of more democracy dividends from the centre to the people of the area if elected in the February 14th poll.
