Over 100 residents of Ekiti State have undergone free surgical treatment at the state University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.

Some of the beneficiaries of the free eye surgery were those diagnosed during the fifth edition of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s Free Health Mission to the people.

Prof. Olusola Fasuba, the Commissioner for Health, on Monday, gave the figure at the end of the programme which took place at the Ophthalmology Centre of EKSUTH.

Fasuba, who expressed satisfaction with the success of the exercise, revealed that the free treatment was part of the efforts of the state government to improve health care delivery.

The commissioner urged the beneficiaries to take their drugs according to prescriptions and also make themselves available for regular check-up.

Dr. Kola Adu, Director of Hospital Services, described the free health mission as a continuous exercise, revealing that the sixth edition would take place before the end of year.
