Utazi who briefed journalists in Enugu shortly after he turned in his resignation letter as Commissioner, stated that all the odds favour him as he is endowed with the capacity, training and public service experience.

Besides, Utazi said he was a former member of Enugu state House of Assembly, who understands the workings of the legislature and therefore would not learn on the job, as he would also get choice chairmanship position due to his legislative background.

Above all, the former Commissioner for Transport who is a lawyer and political scientist by training said that the zoning policy in Nsukka zone favours him too as his area, Uzo-Uwani local government was yet to produce a senator.

He said that with his public service experience having held appointive positions as Special Adviser to Governor Sullivan Chime, a position he resigned in 2011 to contest senate but was asked to drop, and having been served as Co missioner for Transport; he would assist Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Peoples Democratic Party?s (PDP) consensus governorship candidate to coordinate Nsukka zone when they get into government.

He dismissed the possibility of losing the endorsement of stakeholders from his area, saying that he understands the politics of his people and that his past records would speak for him.

?I really want to serve Enugu North people like nobody has ever served them. I have worked as the secretary of the Adada State Movement, the group that has been fighting for the creation of Adada and my vantage position as the secretary made me to be there, I take minutes, I listen to all the conversations, I feel the pulse of Nsukka people in our meetings and they have been harping on certain issues that they wanted to be handled that were not handled.

?And then luckily for us, the governorship is coming to Nsukka zone, and my friend Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, our people are gearing up for him, are gearing up that he becomes the next governor from that area, a majority decision want him to be there.

?If God assists all of us and through our own hard work Ifeanyi gets there as the governor, he needs somebody who will be at the National Assembly, who will coordinate activities at Nsukka zonal level for him so that he will not be disturbed or distracted from giving leadership at the state level because he is going to be the governor of Enugu state not governor of Nsukka,? he said.
