thiopia has created 119,930 job opportunities in the first quarter of the current Ethiopian 2017-2018 fiscal year, a government employment agency has said.

Federal Urban Job Creation and Food Security Agency Deputy Director-General Bekele Mengistu said the number represents 68.6 percent of the initial target of creating 174,810 jobs.

The agency, established in 2016, oversaw the creation of over 1.7 million job opportunities in the previous Ethiopian fiscal year, it said in a statement issued late Monday.

Of the 1.7 million Ethiopians who have secured jobs last fiscal year, 61,000 were graduates from higher education institutes and 128,000 are graduates of technical and vocational schools. Enditem
