The Film Producers Association of Ghana in conjunction with the Audio Visual Right Society of Ghana will start an on-the-spot registration of vehicles that telecast movies to passengers, FIPAG President, Steve Asare Hackman has disclosed.transport

The exercise which will start at the VIP bus terminal on Tuesday will register all vehicles that telecast movies to passengers as members of the Audio Visual Right Society.

This according to FIPAG President will give them the right to telecast movies in their vehicles.

FIPAG last year issued a stern warning to drivers against telecasting movies in their vehicles and promised to take legal action against drivers who were contrary to their warning.

However, the Film Producers Association of Ghana failed to walk the talk as numerous vehicles were seen to be telecasting movies to their passengers, but speaking to Worshipper on A1 Radio?s drive time show, the President of the Association explained the Association did not take any action against any driver last year because it was in talks with the Audio Visual Society of Ghana in order to come out with a prudent way to get drivers to pay for telecasting movies in their vehicles.

He said ?FIPAG is now a member of the Audio Visual Right Society of Ghana and as part of the resolutions the two associations reached, each transport owner who telecasts movies to passengers should be registered as a member of ASOG.

?Each transport owner will be registered as a member of ASOG and will be given a sticker for identification. Every registered member of ASOG will be expected to pay a fee of twenty cedis every year which will give them the Right to telecast movies? he told A1 Radio.

He added that drivers who fail to register with ASOG but telecast movies in their vehicles will be made to face the law because the Association will be working with Police to ensure nobody flouts their directive.
