Gamey and Gamey Academy Induct 20 Students

Gamey and Gamey Academy, at the weekend inducted the 19th Professional Master of Appropriate Dispute Resolution ADR (PEM.ADR) Class.

Twenty students who formed the 18th cohort were taking through Self-Mediation, Managerial Mediation, Preventive Mediation, Executive Mediation and Youth Conflict Resolution and Peer Mediation, and Professional Mediation.

They were exposed to the best practices in Land, Banking and Finance, Procurement, Corporate Governance, Marriage and Divorce, and Workplace Dispute Resolution for six months.

Speaking at the event, Mr Austin A. Gamey, the Chief Executive Officer of Gamey and Gamey Academy said the course, which started in 2003 had trained a critical mass of people equipped with the requisite skill sets in dispute prevention, early resolution and interest based negotiation strategies for business in all facets of the society.

Mr Gamey said the Academy was focused on the mode of delivery and so revise its content continuously to meet the changing trend in ADR practice.

He said in line with the new adjustment, the institution had restructured the programme in three modules.

The first module will be on Interest-Based Negotiations, Mediation and Arbitration and ADR generally.

The second will be on four specialised areas- Labour Dispute Resolution will be captured as part of the first module. The third module will be advanced Mediation and Arbitration with emphasis on how to perfect your craft and handle complex disputes.

He explained that the expectation was that participants from the first cohort to 18th cohort desirous of improving their skills in ADR could join the module 2.

As part of the occasion, there was an official launch of the new professional ADR Daily News Portal site.

The will give rare privilege to lecturers, researchers, professionals, ADR practitioners, students among others across the globe.

The site gives access to professional information in the field of Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations Management, Conflict Resolution and news around the field.

Ms Lizzy-Ann Kwagbedzi, the Deputy Class Prefect, in her report said the world was in dire need for concrete and sustainable solutions to the challenges posed by humanity surrounded by conflicts.
