In a television interview on Fox News, Catherine Herridge revealed that Ghana is not only taking the two ‘terrorists’ into the country out of goodness of their heart, but were promised some favours by the US.

According to her, the favours promised could be embarrassing hence remain undisclosed.

She also insisted that The two – Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby have been in detention for 14 years after being picked up in Afghanistanin 2007, suspected to have been linked to the terrorist group Al-Qaeda.

She also said two pose a medium risk to US National security since Mahmud Umar Muhammad Bin Atef, a member of the Taliban follower of Osama Bin Ladin, and Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby trained in al-Qaeda camp.

However, the decision to accept the detainees was greeted with criticisms as many people said, President Mahama was putting Ghana’s peace under threat.
