GPL: Hearts held to a one all draw game

Accra Hearts of Oak were on Wednesday, held to a one all draw game, by West African Football Academy (WAFA) in the ongoing Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Hearst of Oak have not won in their last three games and were looking to pick themselves up, after being kicked out of the MTN FA Cup round of 32.

Their pressure yielded results in the 35th minute when Charles Boateng pounced on a diverted shot by Abdullah Soulaman in post for Hearts of Oak for the opener.

Although WAFA had the majority of possession in the first half, Hearts came into the game in the second half strongly to dictate the pace of the game.

After more pressure on WAFA and a countless number of shots from Hearts, the stadium came to live as Cosmos Dauda equalized for Hearts in the 74th minute.

Coach Yatsuhashi Kenichi made use of all three substitutions available to him to further threatened the WAFA goal area in search of a match winner but yielded no results.

WAFA resorted to delay tactic as golakeeper Abarola Razak earned himself a yellow card.

Fans and supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak were very much upset with the countless number of times WAFA were wasting time and had to “boo” Samuel Tetteh out for a red card (2nd yellow card).
