The protest march, according to Portland Police Bureau, ended hours later in the afternoon without incident.

The bureau, which posted a series of messages on its Twitter social media network account during the protest, once called for parents to “encourage them (kids) to go back to school.”

Portland, a city in the U.S. Pacific Northwest, has seen nightly protest since last Tuesday, when Trump was elected next president. And it was the first time that a similar event took place during day time.

No arrests were made on Monday, and students were allowed to gather in front of the City Hall.

The authorities in Portland said in a statement on Monday that it had arrested more than 100 protesters for violating laws. Enditem
