The number of COVID-19 cases in Israel rose to 11,145, an increase of new daily 402 cases, the state’s Ministry of Health said Sunday.
The ministry also reported two more deaths from the virus, raising the number of victims to 103.
A reassuring figure is the recent pace of recoveries in Israel, as since Saturday evening 286 patients have recovered, the daily highest number of recovery cases in Israel so far. This brings the total number of recoveries to 1,627.
Also, the number of ventilated patients remains relatively low at 131 (out of 183 patients in serious condition), compared to 129 patients on Saturday.
This low number is contrary to concerns in the Israeli health system for thousands of ventilated patients, which would have made it difficult for hospitals to cope with the overload.
Currently, 737 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, while 7,241 are treated at home and 1,029 in hotels converted into quarantine facilities.
Earlier on Sunday, the Israel Employment Service announced that the unemployment rate in Israel reached 25.8 percent, compared with 4 percent in March 1. Enditem
