The chief and elders living in the Akan constituency have vowed to rally behind their supreme choice Mr. Nicholas Fato the current Volta Regional Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress.

They threaten that if their wish is not granted this time round they will?deliberately?boycott all projects and development in the constituency as they are not ready to lace up with failures any more.

Leaders and Elders of Akan constituency who spoke to The Moment News Paper about their next district chief executive after the incumbent Dce was booted out for lack of transparency and accountability within the first term in office, they have now resulted in rooting for one Nicholas Fato, the current Volta regional propaganda secretary.

?Speaking to Nana Aboagye Prempeh the regent of Ampeyo, he said “we have?already appointed a member of parliament who is a native of Kadjebi,??We are currently expecting that by the end of this month, the position of the District chief executive is being expected to come from the northern part of the constituency,?We need tight security in the district, We need?schools in our communities, We need to increase the revenue generation in the district apart from what is being paid into the assembly as a common fund. We?need more facilities like hospitals in The constituency. Now we can see some changes among the Muslims, so we need them to maintain that the way it is now?.

Nana Aboagye used the opportunity to address his frustration over the lack of peace and tranquility saying there is no peace between the two big political parties in the constituency and this is affecting the foot soldiers behavior, I edge the authorities to work on this and allow the youth to learn a good moral upbringing as good role models from them as their behavior and leadership styles goes a long way to affect the up coming generation of this constituency.

The Member of Parliament for the area Hon. Joseph K. Ofori said there are a lot of talents in this district but due to lack of peace and tranquility in the political front of the constituency, not much attention has been given to these people in the constituency and this is one major area I will be looking at in my second term in office.

In an exclusive interview with the incumbent member of parliament for the area. Hon. Joseph ofori, he said his main choice Mr. Emmanuel kofi Ntumi the co- opted executive member of the constituency. Was not picked and if west becomes west he will have no other option than to opt for the current regional NDC propaganda Mr. Nicholas Kwame Fato who have proven a strong pillar in the constituency and the region as a whole.

Mr. Tumi was rejected and refuses vetting during the vetting period held at Ho the Volta regional capital headed by the incumbent deputy Volta regional minister. With an explanation that he didn’t campaign for the Ndc party during the crucial 2012 general election. with a current assembly member in kadjebi who wants to be treated anonymous claims the vetting done at the regional level was not the best and if care is not taken non qualified persons will be taken and appointed as MMDCes in the region.

Nana Aboagye Prempeh, the regent of Ampeyo have vowed that if the authorities don’t appoint the current propaganda secretary of he region as the Dce, this will sabotage his administration.

He claims the regional executives have limited them selves so low that the former Member of Parliament Hon. Gyapong kwadwo dictates to them and actually controls the affairs of him Akan constituency which is not in the best interest of the residents and the traditional authorities in the constituency.

As at the time of picking this investigation it was revealed that Gyapong kwadjo have seen to the qualification of three persons who he will use for is advantage during the 2016 elections since he has not given up the battle he lost during the 2012 general election.

Some of residents at Ahamasu who spoke to this reporter say ?Ghanians are more than ready to take the mantle on and seek what is better and right for our community even at the peril of our lives”.

As it stands now, kadjebi will only progress and projects with development only if the regional and national authorities reckon with the voice of the elders and leaders of the Akan constituency.
