Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, has called on the Alhaji Aminu Maigari led football body to call its Technical Committee to order on the issue of the World Cup list.
He said that their continued agitation that certain players must make the Nigerian team to Brazil global football showpiece remains the worst that has happened to the country?s game in recent time and urged the enlarged leadership of the federation to stamp its feet
on ground and call these tiny cabals to order.
?This is dangerous signal that these few unpatriotic individuals have engaged the coach for some time now. Reports had it that shortly
after CHAN, the technical committee started this demand for World Cup team list from the
head Coach, Stephen Keshi which no doubt is unheard of. Now the stalemate has been on.
The coach is under undue pressure yet what the unsuspecting public are fed is that there is no rift. There is. You don?t need to be inside to
know that. What is happening is sad,? he lamented.
Abdullahi insists that it is incumbent on the leadership of the federation to put their heads together and call off this bluff from the technical committee. They should be told
where their work starts and ends.
The committee should not spoil an anticipated World Cup fun for Nigerians who look up to the exploits Keshi led crew and his boys are packaging for their compatriots back home.
?NFF as a matter of national importance must call the technical committee to absolute order because what they have embarked upon is disservice to the nation.
They are not representing any body?s interest. They are on
their own. It is Keshi?s right to pick players that he knew their ability and capacity. He is the only one that can set the standard a player must attain to quality for call up for the World Cup which is not a tea party.
The technical committee plot to derail the well articulated World Cup programme of the technical crew and players remains the
saddest moment which must be stop. The -30- man list must reach FIFA by May 10, the coaches are working round the clock to pick
the legs for the country and any attempt by any group to sabotage such would be resisted,? he warned.
