Kwasi Addai Odike

The 2012 flagbearer of the United Front Party (UFP), Kwasi Addai aka ?Odike? will visit the Antoa Nyamaa River in the Ashanti Region on Monday.

The politician is expected to visit the place to perform traditional rites to recant a curse he invoked on the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Kojo Bonsu and the Asokwahene, Nana Fe-Baamoah II over a land issue.

The Asantehemaa?s palace yesterday ordered Odike to travel to the river and perform traditional rites to reverse the curse he invoked.

Per the order, the KMA boss is also expected to be present at the river on Monday for the rites to be performed.

This was when Odike appeared before the Asantehemaa?s court at Manhyia yesterday.

According to reports, the UFP leader instantly accepted the order of the Asantehemaa by promising to visit Antoa on Monday.

Odike was present at the crunch meeting but Kojo Bonsu was represented by his sister.

Sources at the palace said the entire process went on peacefully for a decision to be taken.

A traditional leader, who was at the sitting, initially pleaded with the Asantehemaa to inform Odike to accept an apology from Kojo Bonsu, a source said.

Odike reportedly accepted the apology and informed the chiefs and queens present that he would abide by any decision that they would take in connection with the case.

The Asantehemaa?s representative at the meeting therefore directed Odike and Kojo Bonsu to go to Antoa on Monday to reverse the curse.

The Asantehemaa?s palace did not focus on the legal issues concerning the case, as it only dealt with the curse which was banned in Asanteman.

Odike attracted bad press some months ago after it emerged that he had invoked curses on Kojo Bonsu and Asokwahene over a land.

Reports said Odike was constructing a Drivers and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) testing office on a land at Asokwa, which Kojo Bonsu ordered his men to destroy.

Odike, who felt cheated, decided to visit the homes of Kojo Bonsu and the Asokwahene where he cursed them with the Antoa River deity.
