
Chairman of the National Security Council’s Committee on Lands and Natural Resources has strongly denied claims that, nine kilos of refined gold belonging to Hansol Company Limited was ?stolen by the taskforce during a recent? raid at a mining concession at Amponyasi Gyemi Agya in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.
Reacting to the claims, Brigadier General Daniel Kwaku Mishio told www.www.spyghana.com that his outfit has begun an official handing over process of ?all the seized equipment and items to the National Security which begun on Thursday and is expected to end today.
The small scale mining company has accused military personnel from the Fourth Battalion (4BN), Immigration and Police Services who formed the taskforce of stealing about nine kilos of gold, two pickup trucks and thousands of dollars.
Officials of the company told www.www.spyghana.com that the taskforce took away, Pick-ups and trucks with registration numbers; Mitsubishi-pick up GR1369-13, Nissan Pick-up GN1002-12, Mitsubishi Pick-up GN5597-12, Mitsubishi GN1118-13, Toyota V8 Pick-up GN5588-12 and JAC truck GE8032-11.
Describing the claims as ridiculous General Mishio dared those making the allegations to provide evidence to that effect of shut up, saying ?If he (CEO of Hansol Ltd) says his gold has been stolen? then he needs to prove it.?
He disclosed that the CEO of the company Bernard Antwi Bosiako has been summoned before the committee to answer questions for operating on an illegal concession with Chinese Nationals and how documents in his possession were secured from the Minerals Commission.
?The Minerals Commission, National Security and the Ghana Immigration Service have invited Hansol Company to answer questions on their operation since they are operating an illegal concession,? he noted.
He assured that a mob up exercise will be conducted in the Ashanti Region to ensure that all illegal miners are flushed out of the system, ?we will execute our duties to ensure that all illegal minings are stopped in all mining areas.? He added
In addition to the company?s claims, eight excavators, millions of Ghana cedis were allegedly carried away. Four excavators were set ablaze together with the residence of the Chinese Engineer at the site, they stated.
Meanwhile, documents in possession of www.www.spyghana.com indicate that, Hansol limited renewed its registration license as a mine support service company on January 14, 2013 through a letter from the Minerals Commission.
Other documents show that some of the Chinese miners have the necessary resident and working permits to work for Hansol Company.
