The National Communications Authority (NCA) says that it will soon be publishing its responses to comments from the industry on the Interconnect Clearing House (ICH). According to the NCA there are some consultation going on with stakeholders to ensure that doubts raised by some industry players are addressed to allow the Authority to set up the ICH.

The interconnect clearing house when established is expected to provide a common, independent mechanism for the billing and settlement of interconnect traffic for all the existing and future telecom operators in the country. But the Ghana Internet Services Providers Association , the Telecom Chamber as well as the Wireless Application Services Providers of Ghana in resisting the establishment of the ICH say it will be an additional cost to Telcos and Services providers which would be passed on to consumers.

Information available to Citi Business News is that the NCA just closed the bid or application for eligible Entities registered under the Ghana Companies Code, to apply for a license to establish, maintain and operate Interconnect Clearinghouse Services on the 17th of December, 2014. In a response to question asked by the media, the NCA believes their responses when published will address questions that have been raised by the Telecom Industry and the Media at large.
