The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) would hold an emergency Functional Executive Committee (FEC) this week, and a National Executive Committee (NEC) next week to decide on its suspended national executive elections.

The meeting follows of an out-of-court settlement suggested by the court handling the suit by a member of the party, who is challenging the legitimacy of the elections.
Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary of the NDC, told a news conference that the party would use its democratic structures to address the electoral issues.
He debunked allegations of manipulating the constitution of the party to the advantage of the current party executives.
He said as the General Secretary, his duty was to inform the rank and file of the party on the decision and outcome of the case and for the party?s authorities to use the relevant structures to deliberate and decide matters.
A Kumasi High Court, presided over by Mr Justice Jacob Bonoo, last Thursday, ordered for an out-of-court settlement in a case brought before it by an aggrieved member of the party, Linus Njonolah.
Mr Nketiah informed the journalists that the party had registered close to 500, 000 of its members in its current registration exercise but the new card would not be the basis for elections at it next congress.
